South Wasco Farmers Market - Opens for its 2nd Season on JULY 1st, 2023
The South Wasco Farmers Market is opening for its second season on Saturday, July 1st at the Tygh School Community Center. The market is operated in partnership with South Wasco Alliance by a group of volunteer community members known as the Farmers Market Advisory Committee. The market mission is to create and encourage a sustainable healthy community by increasing opportunities to sell a variety of products direct to local consumers.
In its first year the market featured locally grown seasonal produce, pickled vegetables, jams & jellies, fresh bread, eggs (chicken, duck and turkey), pasture raised chicken and other farm products, bee products (honey, candles, hand salves, honey cakes), local gourmet finishing salts, handcrafted wind chimes, bird houses, children’s clothing, adorable gnomes, home décor, soaps, artisan cards, earrings, local Topical CBD products (balms and sprays, soaps, essential oils), wooden toys, decorative carved rocks, All American apparel, sweet treats, and baking mixes.
NEW this year, The market is offering to double your SNAP dollars up to $20 per week with support from Google and Columbia Gorge Food Bank. Just visit the information booth and exchange $20 of SNAP benefits for tokens & receive matching $20 in tokens! Also, anyone who receives Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program dollars/green checks, can use them directly to purchase from participating farmers at the market. Just look for the Direct Nutrition Program sign at their booths.
We would like to thank our partners and sponsors Avangrid Renewables, Collins Foundation, Columbia Gorge Food, Google, Northern Wasco County PUD, Oregon Community Foundation, Roundhouse Foundation, Tenneson Engineering, The Ford Family Foundation and Tygh School Community Center for making the farmers market possible.
