SWA was awarded a two-year Community Economic Development Planning grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on October 1, 2024. With it, SWA convened more than a dozen partners to align strategies on job creation, workforce development, and community health. SWA led the planning and will use it going forward to support targeted job creation and workforce development, as community members become ready to implement, in collaboration with local and regional partners. The grant closed September 30, 2026. Partners documented $395,000 in in-kind contributions to the project.
